Hello! Just recently, I
bought a circular machine and the first, what I decided to do for this machine is the
insert for the router. It's temporary, I'll tell you right away that this is a simple solution, which can be called
the easiest for a router. And for good, I have in the plans a freestanding milling machine,
with good backlash, with fine adjustment, with guides. But this is all in perspective,
and just the other day I will have a small project.
I want to make wooden plates.
Larch boards have been lying for a long time – especially for this bought. Particular accuracy is not needed there, but the router
must be fixed to the table. And so I decided first of all to make an insert for the router.
Fortunately, I bought a circular, also by the way, it was for these parameters so that the router can be inserted
into the table. My circular saw boasts a good overhang, an extension table and there,
just a great place for a router.
Expansive the table at this machine is really very good,
very large, the most important thing is very durable. Minimal backlash and even a router like mine, I
think, is definitely not the easiest and it is very difficult for him will overturn this table. I think that the router
will, on the contrary, make the structure even heavier. The vibration at the table will be even less. But all the same,
across the entire width of the departure, I decide to make a fold, as less as possible. I have a big milling cutter. But I
decide to make it the minimum width so that I just could get up and be level with the table. I make
markings, connect a vacuum cleaner and saw to size. All the structure will rest on the rails
from the expansion table. I saw on YouTube how the master built the milling cutter into such a machine.
But after looking at it, I did not fully understand how exactly this liner is attached, so I decided to go my own
Perhaps he is the same as that master, but I decided to do it in more detail, to
show it, so I decided in my own way. Vklydysh on both sides it will press the expansion
table so that it does not play. And on the sides so that to fix it, I decided to cut out two grooves,
on the left and on the right, so that these sides do not give backlash. I decided to make a hole for a router
based on my largest router bit, which I have.
I picked up the crown, drilled
it right under this cutter end-to-end. Further, of course, there will be several
rings in the milling table , which will change depending on the size of the cutter. Having tried on the insert already on the machine,
I decided that all the errors that turned out are fully compensated for by the speed of manufacture.
So I decided to grind this insert a little and only then finalize. As always, I forget
to wear a respirator when sanding plywood.
How I always have a headache in the evening from this
. So don't forget the remedies. Be sure to wear a
respirator when working with plywood . The material is very versatile, but very pungent. Since plywood has
been in my workshop for a long time , it is not very even and, to remove the extra backlash, I decide to tighten 4
self-tapping screws in order to remove the excess backlash with them.
We managed to build everything very quickly. So
that the screw caps do not spoil my new machine, do not scratch, I will seal the caps with electrical tape. I screw the insert already to the router, clamp the
start button with a tie so that you can turn on already into the socket. My router has a certain
drawback, it has a difficult speed control. This is a very wonderful thing, but after each
connection to the network, the speed is reset, and it starts to thrash at the highest
speed when turned on. So something it will be necessary to come up with a machine in order to
adjust the speed mechanically.
I don't know yet how to do it, but most likely I
'll turn to my electronics friends, I think they give me something prompt. Since this is a temporary solution,
there will be no separate start button . As soon as I collect a freestanding milling machine there I will already do
everything differently. Until then, for a quick project, which does not wait long, you can simply plug it
into a power outlet. Not even an hour passed since I had a milling table with which you can already quite
